This is our 2nd visit to Takayama and we picked something extraordinary this time. Location wise, this hotel is perfect, with only 3 min walk to the Takayama Station and only 10+ min walk to the tourist street - Kamisannomachi across the Miyagawa River, where you're never short of restaurant choices around the neighborhood. Please do note that shops tend to close slightly a bit early and if you target some famous Hida beef restaurants, you better have to book in advance. We'd say the onsens are definitely the highlight of this hotel. Since we're traveling with our child, the hotel does offer private onsen under reservation with a fee, and we enjoyed the privacy and family time spent with our child. What's great is that they even have vending machine outside onsens. Who'd have thought having a milk after onsen and before going to bed feels so divine. The room is gorgeous, feels so new and has all the amenities you need. The vast breakfast buffet food choices are amazing.

Location was excellent , close to the JR station and short walk to some super but expensive Hida Beef yakiniku restaurants. In the end we spent one day in the Old Town area and the other at the Hida No Sato village . Weather was better but still very cold. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable but could still hear the trains slightly at night as we had " mountain view" - bathroom facilities excellent . Staff were ok but not as friendly as in other hotels in Yokohama or Hikone - more like a European Hotel, which given the no of Western tourists and Groups visiting Takayama not that surprising. My daughter and Grandson loved the breakfast which I had included in their room deal.

Very clean rooms, premises and indoor & outdoor onsen facilities. Nice interior decorating throughout. Extremely welcoming and very helpful front desk (Virginie, Omae, Sudip, intern -Jidapa) who helped booked restaurants, find lost slipper (someone took slipper from onsen shoe rack) and mailed phone cable left behind (Virginie, Ken). Well maintained hotel that still feels new. Location within minutes from Takayama station, easy walk to Old Town, 7-11 around the right corner exiting hotel. Hotel umbrellas available for use. Suggestion: hotel has a list of Takayama restaurants. Would suggest to curate another list of kaiseki restaurants for guests looking for extra special experiences.

Good new hotel. Installations are new, room is cosy, well decorated, and comfortable. Close to the Takayama train station (5 min walking). The staff was gentle, we changed the time for the private onsen for 3 times without any problem. Great breakfast too, and the onsen (including the private one) is a plus. We were there during winter time, and there was a door in the onsen with a snowy view and a balcony, quite beautiful. We even opened the door to get some fresh, cold, air.

Thank you so much for this great experience. We had an amazing stay which was because of the wonderful staff in overall (thanks especially for the french/japanese lady who was fluent in english and gave us great advises to help us), the great mixed breakfast buffet, the great beds and the good location which was directly at the train station. A lovely and safe surrounding. Nice onsen at the roof top. Really comfortable and nice pyjamas.
